We finally had the right conditions for Blackfin Tuna jigging on our Hatteras fishing charter, and the fish did not disappoint!
We started the day trolling and picked up a couple of fish, but the marks were deep, so we switched to jigging. Over about 10 drifts, we landed around 30 Blackfin Tuna, including roughly a dozen quality fish and three fish in the 20-pound range.
When the wind picked up around lunchtime, we moved inshore and looked for King Mackerel. The kings didn't cooperate, but we caught several Spanish Mackerel before calling it a day.

The Hatteras Blackfin Tuna jigging season is just getting started, and we have Plenty of days available and the jigging is just getting started! On a side note, fuel prices impact my operation minimally. I use gasoline from the road pump and usually burn about 60 to 75 gallons per day.
My 31 contender gets 1.5 mpg at 38 knots, and this fuel crisis is costing me about $50 a day out of my pocket. I am willing to eat that and keep my rates at $350 per person per day, but please consider that when its time to tip. If you wanna go, shoot me a message. I do a makeup trip a day or two a week during the week when I am not booked with full charters.
Thanks! So stoked to see these fish on ths jog today!
