Jake here with a quick updated fishing report for Virginia Beach fishing charters. On offshore fishing charters out of Virginia Beach, tuna fish are officially within reach of Virginia Beach! Several boats fished today out of Virginia Beach and had nice catches of yellowfin tuna, some bigeye tuna, sharks, and even a few mahi.
deep drop fishing charters continue to yield catches of blueline tilefish, grouper, golden tilefish, and sea bass. Dont forget that sea bass are not in season until monday may 15.
Wreck fishing charters have turned up a few flounder and bluefish. Both sea bass and tautog are currently out of season, but sea bass become legal on may 15.
Spadefish, cobia, and spanish mackerel are right around the corner for our inshore charters.
Red drum, black drum, and even a couple sheepshead are currently being caught in the evenings at the mouth of the chesapeake bay and at the eastern shore barrier islands.
In rudee inlet, we are still seeing some puppy drum, black drum, flounder, some chopper bluefish, and even a stray striper or two.
