The last couple days have seen very good offshore fishing and really good charter fishing offshore in Virginia Beach. The yellowfin tuna have shown up in good numbers and there are some really big limits of tuna coming back to the docks in rudee inlet on charter boats over the last couple of days. The conditions have been perfect for tuna fishing over the last couple days and as a result, we are having some of the best tuna fishing in years in Virginia Beach right now. We had some shark fishing charter trips offshore over the last couple days and had some really amazing fishing trips. There has been exceptional shark fishing. We found a dead whale offshore and there were sharks all around it. We caught and released numerous sharks including tiger sharks, blue sharks, and even a 15 foot long great white shark. Catching tiger sharks are cool, but this was the first ever great white I have caught and it was a really cool experience. It was a huge fish and an awesome bite to see.
There has also been really good deep drop fishing offshore and we are seeing plenty of red drum and cobia on our inshore fishing charters. Any day now, we should see some spadefish biting and there should be some sharks and spanish mackerel as well.
