In August, I have several trips available for charter. For families just looking to get out and catch some fish, I have:
-4 hour half day for $650+tip. On this trip we catch primarily Spanish mackerel and bluefish, and occasionally a cobia. This trip is a quick, easy couple hours on the water where we catch some fish and enjoy seeing the lighthouses and dolphins at Caoe Henry.
-6 hour cobia trip for $850+tip. On this trip we fish in the lower bay and inshore area of the ocean off Virginia Beach for cobia. The cobia fishing is exceptional in August and many days we not only catch our limit of cobia, but also release many other cobia.
-6 hour evening shark trip for $1000+tip. On this trip we leave late in the afternoon and evening and spend the prime feeding time of the day chumming for huge sharks. Sharks are catch and release only, but numerous different species of sharks are available on these trips in August.
-8 hour inshore wreck/bottom/spadefish fishing for $1200+ tip. On this trip we fish wrecks in the inshore waters off Virginia Beach within 20 miles of our home port in Lynnhaven. The catches can vary greatly from day to day but typical species are black sea bass, spadefish, triggerfish, and flounder.
- 10 hour nearshore wreck/fads fishing for $1500+tip. On this trip we fish the much more productive wrecks off the coast of Virginia Beach for sea bass, flounder, and triggerfish, and then spend a while trolling around private fish attracting devices for mahi mahi. This trip tends to catch the most fish since it is the most time on the water in a target rich environment.
All these trips depart from Bubbas Marina on Shore Drive in Virginia Beach, fishing aboard the 35' Downeaster "Toro". We can carry up to 6 passengers per trip and for more info or booking go to
